How to upload pics from my samsung rant to my pc?

Whenever I connect my Samsung Rant to my PC, it won't let me open my phone's file. I really wanna upload all my pics to my computer because I am running out of room in my memory card and already deleted all the useless ones. How do I upload my pictures from my phone to my computer with my USB cord? There is no software that came with my phone. Please help. I went to the SAMSUNG website because I read I have to download something from that site but I don't know what to download. The Adobe Reader or the Dj-thing-y?
No, i meant how to get pics from my phone on to my computer. not onto yahoo.
