how to unlock blackberry 8900?

It is AT&T. My friend gave me this phone. I put in my Sim card and it said locked. It then said enter "blackberry" so I did, It then sad to enter password. I had my friend enter his password and it didn't work. We did this twice and we only have 3 more times to try!
