how to type Chinese in English Android system

I have a mytouch 3g. I am Chinese so I want to be able to type Chinese on my phone. I download Google Pinyin from the market, but I don't know how to switch to Google pinyin from the keyboard. I went to local & text and checked Google Pinyin, but still got nothing. Anyone can help me please? Thanks

Go to your messaging app and long press where you want to start typing, should bring up a dialogue box "input method" select that and you should have a choice between Pinyin and the standard android keyboard.
