How to turn off the "no shortcuts" icon on the samsung rogue?

So I just got the Samsung Rogue and I love it, but I stupidly decided to test out the personal banner thing but didn't like it so i erased what i wrote, but then it just said "add a personal banner" on the home screen. Then I tried to cancel out that by putting shortcuts on the screen and now I can't get rid of that either...help? I'm technology challenged when it comes to this stuff lol
