How to train for martial arts in small spaces?

I started learning Wu Shu from a friend (not sure what style, but he tends to favour what he calls 'Southern Movements') towards the end of last year, now I've got a new job and I've moved to a very snowy place. :)

I enjoy Wu Shu and want to continue practicing, but I'm on the road 2 days a week, the rest of the time I'm at work.

Anyway, my real problem isn't that I can't make time for it, I get up early and do basic cardio in my hotel room no matter where I am - but practicing martial arts movements in cramped spaces is another story.

It's too cold and dangerous to train outside (most of the time), access to parks or open spaces isn't really feasible anyway (I work at 3 sites, all very far away from each other, and it's hard to find time to drive to parks and get my work done), access to gyms isn't always feasible either (same reasons) though I can sometimes go depending on where I need to be during what week (I still don't really like practicing at the gym in front of everyone, I'm not very good at it yet).

I want to practice as much as possible as often as possible, these days I'm only practicing for an hour once a week, and it's hard to make more progress that way.

I would like to know how people organize themselves when living a unique lifestyle like mine, please any advice is appreciated.
I understand that Wu Shu is an art that a person needs space to be able to practice, so please don't limit your answers to Wu Shu, there are other arts out there that I would be glad to learn if you think that I could train frequently and efficiently with my conditions. One person suggested Muay Thai, or Krav Maga, another suggested Wing Chun - I thank you both, but actually I've had a few Wing Chun classes before and find that since it is a form of Kung Fu (Wu Shu) I would need a lot of space.
