Here are some brands of bikes to look at online that will be available at your local bike shop: Specialized
Trek
Giant
Cannondale
Felt
There are tons more but these are the more popular and available brands.
The absolute best thing that you can do is to go to your local bike shop and be measured and fit to the right size bike. You are looking for a road bike, it seems. Specialized bikes are prob the best value and nicest looking bikes. They start at $500 for the Vita which is a flat bar road bike. The first true road racing bike is the Dolce and it's $940. You could buy a stationary trainer to mount the bike on(about$150). You will spend at least $200 more for other gear you need, so take that into consideration. Check the websites of the other bikes, find one you like, find a dealer in your area and go shopping. I do recommend Specialized if that helps.

I have recently decided that I want to try out competitive bike riding and I'm needing some advice. Just so you know, I am a 15 year old girl.

I need to find a good bike that can be used for both competition and training. I know you really need two different bikes for that, but I need to invest some time in this sport before I go buy 2 new bikes. I need some brands to look for because I have no idea how to go about looking for one.
Also, I live in a pretty small neighborhood where it is very hard to bike to train because there you must constantly turn around. My dad said he might be able to take me to a trail 1-2 times a week to train, but I need to know how to train without biking on a trail every day. BTW I don't own a stationary bike ( haha i know I just took your idea)...This will make it hard to train but I am determined to do it. It would be great if you guys could help me out and give me some suggestions or personal experiences. Thanks :)
Sorry I didn't specify what kind of cycling..I meant like long distance cycling. I'm not planning to do off road if that helps...
