How to tighten E-Brake on 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE2 3.4L V6?

i have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE2 3.4L V6 and i dont know how to tighten my e-brake. and i dont want to take it into a shop to save money so i want to do it myself. and i dont want to to take the chance of wrecking it. so if anyone has a method, or a step by step process on how to tighten my e-brake. Thanks.
 
jack the drivers side up and look under the car. you should have a turn buckle there with the cables hooked to it. that,s where you adjust it from. also it could be another thing too. if you have rear drums then maybe the back shoes needs to be set up a little bit tighter.
