i have a set of manifold guages/ hoses and i also have and i have access to both r22 and 134a through my work. i am a building services mechanic by trade, and would like to cure my problems as much as i can by myself before calling the pros and maybe save myself some money.....
i have a 2.5 ton trane system that was new install in 2003, before that it was all window units. i bought the house in 2007.
on to my question.... how do i know if my system is low on freon, wich i believe it is. my coil keeps freezing, even though i clean it regularly with the purple foam stuff and i replace the filter weekly ( because of my dogs).
please help me save some cash and learn a new trick at the same time.
