Take your fish and place it on a motorbike. If it sits on the pillion it's a girl.

I know i've asked this question before, but i've found out what type of fishiees i got now, ive got a lion head and a pearl goldfish (:

The males will have a vent opening that is sunken in or concave while the females will have a vent opening that sticks out or is convex. This is the easiest way to tell

The females will also have a lower heavier abdomen than the male. This is really the best way to tell. Males will not get breeding tubers until spawn.

A male goldfish is more active than the female. It swims faster than a female and is slimmer. The female goldfish tends to be fatter in the belly and swims slower than the male.

The male fish will tend to swim slower and eat more of the food. The female fish will do most of the tank cleaning and be constantly swimming around busy as can be.
