how to tell if my neighbor is cooking drugs?

A man I worked with had this problem in his neighborhood. The downwind smell was toxic, the yard litter dangerous, and traffic unending.

He reported it to the police as a potential explosive hazard.

I strongly advise you to not do anything about it. As long as he's not bothering you, you have nothing to worry about.

But anyway, if they are cooking drugs, they'll have a lot of security- fences, cameras, guard dogs. They will also have a lot of gas tanks if they're cooking meth.

But again, don't say anything. If your neighbor gets in trouble, his friends are going to suspect one of the neighbors made a tip. And then you've got a bunch of drug addicts trying to kill you.

If he is making drugs you should see a lot of old containers either empty or filled with chemicals lying around either in the garage or in the back or in his trash can. If you walk by the house there is usually a very strong chemical smell.

If he is selling drugs from the house there should be a lot of foot traffic. People coming by all the time by foot and by car. If there is unusual traffic at night then that could also be a sign.

If there is extra sercurity that is not normal for a typical house then that could be a sign.
