Basically i have just bought a car without its v5 docs and it isnt taxd. I need to insure myself on the car before i drive it back. But how do i tax it without the v5 doc? and will they need my insurance cover note to get tax? will i need the mot from him 1st aswell?

The car is mot , but he lives 3 n half hrs away and didnt want to go up there and find out i need insurance to tax the car. He does run a dealership and said he'd give me a receipt. its all confusing lol
i havent been up there to collect the car, i still have the money. he has the mot still. i dont want to drive up there (3 n half hrs)if i dont have everything i need. he seems to think i can go to the dvla office and get it done there, says he has all the forms i need to fill in n they will give me the disc, saves waiting for it to come in the post?
