The camera doesn't matter. Give me a film camera and I will still be better than those who have digital SLRs but without knowledge of photography.
How to take good photos?
Learn how to read histograms. Your eyes and monitors are not correctly showing the exposure of your photo.. unless, you have calibrated it.
Learn how to compose and re compose your shot. Read about Digital Image Composition.
READ THE MANUAL of your camera. Autofocus have its issues and the manual would tell you about it. If you won't read your manual.. your on your own.
