I have to take photos of several sheets of paper. I am using a common digital camera.

Is there a secret to preventing flash washout (which ruins the pic)???

I can't turn the flash off, because the photo is then fuzzy. '

thanks

Photo is fuzzy because it's out of focus--the camera (point and shoot, I am guessing) has nothing really to focus on. (Are you talking about plain solid color?) If not, you might be too close for it to focus.

Take it outside, not in bright sunlight--but under a cloudy day, or in the shade. The exposure will be tricky (you may have to use a gray card). And disable the flash.

If you must, use a flat bed scanner to "take" this photo instead.

the only secret is to not use flash. If you want to take a picture of paper, you have to set up good lighting and take a photo with flash turned off.
