How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying audition piece for Rosemary?

Hello!

For my audition for How to Succeed in Business.. I need an uptempo, a ballad, and a monologue.

For songs:
I am a soprano - full range is F3-F6 (sorry if that's notated wrong - I always manage to screw it up. Anyways: the f below middle C and the f above high C [so - three leger lines and then on top of those.)
My belt goes up to a D sustaining - I can sustain an Eb like SOMETIMES, so I wouldn't chance it!! I can hit an E - but only for a short while haha. Obviously a soprano and not a belter.

SO: I need an uptempo and a ballad and I REALLY WANT TO HINT AT ROSEMARY. But I'm really stumped. She is: "The woman behind the man. An attractive, loyall and confident secretary. In love with Finch" Her main song is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcV0ewyHroY
(But I obviously wouldn't want to sing anything from the show either.)

The monolog should be a comedy -- even if you could just give me a name of a good character and play, I can pick my own from that play.

I assume that you have already visited musicaltheatreaudition.com because it seems that you have copied and pasted the description of Rosemary. You did not, however search the whole site. Did you browse the 'Character Profiles'? She is very much the "Woman in Charge". When I think of her, Dolly Levi from "Hello, Dolly!" immediately comes to mind. You might want to sing one of her solos for your up-tempo piece. I recommend "I Put My Hand In". That's a fun song! For your ballad, I think "As Long As He Needs Me" from "Oliver!" would work really well. Both songs are mezzo-soprano, so I suggest changing the key of Dolly's song so you can show off your full range. Nancy's solo sounds best as is. Maybe you should try one of Aunt Eller's monologues from "Oklahoma!" because she's a lot like Rosemary, in my opinion. She's really funny! I know I just read a play with a monologue that's perfect for ya but I just can't remember at the moment. E-mail me. Break a leg!
