How to stop automatic email download

Hi Droids,

I have a new Dell Streak, I have set my email accounts to NOT download email automatically, but it seems I have EMAIL PUSH enabled somehow as emails are arriving instantly. HJow and where do I turn this off so I only get email when I manually check it.
I cannot find anything undert the email account settings for this.

Id like to know the answer to this also , just come back from a wee holiday and I was having kittens about this wondering if i would be getting data roaming charges as a result of this .
I had Data Roaming off , Syncing and Mobile Internet off and only used free wifi .

I tried turning off auto-sync, no change, so this obviously must be to do with syncing with the pc, not email.
I do turn off the wifi when not using it. turning off the 3G seems rather drastic measure, this can't be the only solution.

solved it.

I called o2 support line, they transferred me directly to Dell without any introduction or warning. I had no idea I was talking to Dell and they had no idea who I was. Very poor.
Dell also could not help me and had no idea what I was talking about. So I have now solved it myself.

To stop this problem you need to disable the background sync.

Go to Settings -> data synchronization

And disable background data.
NOTE: this is not the auto-sync as someone else mentioned.

Please note that this is enabled by default and will connect to all services continuously, including facebook, twitter, email and any other services you have enabled.
This could run up huge data bills for customers and also drains the battery considerably.
Of course your facebook and twitter will no longer update with this turned off, if you use thos modules.
