Me and my best friend have opened a babysitting business, and one family we babysit for has a son who won't stop watching the TV. Me and my friend have tried having squirt gun fights, water balloon tosses, and finger painting, but after we're done he'll just head strait for the tv. When we try to get him to do something else, he'll whine and complain, and we can't always be doing activities. I've asked his parents to talk to him, but even then he'll stop watching tv for awhile, but after lunch, he'll start watching again. Help!
Also, just to help out, he is seven. Maybe that will help out. And, for those of you who think turning off the tv will work, he'll turn it back on. (le duh!)

Hmm, I think the best way to deal with a gentleman who loves to watch TV is to simply shorten the TV-periods step by step.

If he watch 6 hours day one it is 5,50 day two. Day three he watch 5,40 and so on.

But please do not forbidden him to watch the TV completely.

Give him a puzzle to do. That way you don't have to be there doing an activity and it will keep him away from the tv. What about his toys? start playing with him and then slip away if you dont want to continue. Is he an only child? if he isn't then you could start playing with the other child and give them lots of attention and possibly make him jealous and want to join in. its really the parents problem here that you have to suffer...
