How to start off a speech about animal testing?

I have to give an oral report about the pros and cons of animal testing. I can't think of any ways to start it off though! I need one sentence to start off my speech, that will grab the audiences attention. Thanks!
 
OMG THiS WAS MY TOPiC!

It could be something like

"every year (find site and insert number here) animals are killed needlessly for our own personal gain"
