How to set a custom ringtone as a ringtone on iPhone 4?

Hi, I just purchased an iPhone 4 and I am trying to set one of my favorite songs as the ringtone. at first, I created a 30 sec ringtone with the song, and now the segment is in the Ipod part of the phone. But I still cant set it a the ringtone. The ringtone that I just created is not even listed in the ringtones list. Any help would be appreciated.

luckily, i got a step by step guide on how to set songs as ringtones for iphone 4/3gp/3g with some iphone ringtone maker, now i can set thousands of songs, music video as iphone ringtones
