How to say Physical Education in German?

"Der Sportunterricht," a compound word made from "sport" and "unterricht" ("class"), or "die Leibesübungen" (from "Liebes," meaning "love"? and "übungen," meaning "calisthenics"). "Die Leibesübungen" is labelled as an education term, but since "der Sportunterricht" has an English word in it, it might be the more colloquial term.

I found a few translations, but I don't know which one is the most proper when talking about school subject.
Thanks!
