how to return biodiversity to the back swamp?

here at guildford grammar school we have a swan river back swamp and i am doing an extended answer thingy, so here is the question.
GGS has changed over the years, and shows loss of flora and fauna diversity. suggest two main strategies to assist the return of biodiversity to the back swamp.

thank you sooo much if you can answer this question, if i dont get the answer i will fail geography!!!
 
Protect:
Zero development in the area is the most important strategy.
Protect it as a swamp, keep development and farming well away and the flora and fauna will return.

Replant:
To speed things up - if the swamp's natural flora is known, plant and the fauna will naturally return.
