How to restore texts to the N73?

I was asked to post this in an older thread to keep the place clean, but no one answered

How do you restore messages on your 6230 to the N73 which are strictly in the 'saved items' folder? Nokia PC Suite happily retreives those in your inbox, but I'm lost as to how to restore the saved messages too. Lifeblog is not compatible with 6230.

Cheers.

I replied on your first thread regarding whether or not you should buy the N73 and said that PC Suite only iexports and NOT IMPORT.

I tried this myself and couldn't find a way to import. -_-"

Sory for the laziness to link to your old thread.

Then it might be time to let go. I used to save every single text message I ever received about a year ago using Lifeblog, but after I had to reformat my PC and try to recover a backup of Lifeblog's database, I ran into more problems than my nostalgia was worth.

Do you really need to keep all those old messages on your new phone?

Restore backup is not the same as import... Import is making use of files with other formats, such as importing messages from your old phone to the new one.

Restoring backup, on the other hand, is using the copy of your old files that you have saved in case the files you are using is corrupt, etc.

The content copier (or backup, if you'd call) in PC Suite only performs backup for contacts, calendar entries, and some other stuff for other phones. Messages are for the same phone only. This is accroding to the note before the you perform backup.

Believe me, I have tried a thousand ways I could think of to import my old messages and Pc Suite just doesn't allow you to frigging do so. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

I'm afraid you are mistaken. I backed up/copied content from a 6230 to an N80 and the contacts, calendar, multimedia and inbox was copied.

But nothing from my saved msgs folder was carried over. Something I have to live with I guess.
