How to remove my dog's ear hair at home other than plucking ?

I was thinking if I can use men's hair remover for nose ?
or is it better to just trim it ?
i try to clean everyday but it still stinks.. ther'es no redness or drainage at all.....
i have a toy poodle by the way...
