There are three connections, they all seem to have some kind of inside circular tabs, and different from each other. I tried to use the "special tool" (from autozone for $7) on it but two of the line connections are so close to the filter that the tool will not fit in between. It appears there may be some squeezing or expanding of the tabs is required, but which is it, squeezing or expanding?
I tried for awhile messing with these tabs, squeezing them and trying to pull off the fuel line but it was very firm. I also don't want to break anything through trial and error. One of the tabs seems to be fully round and may pull in and out of the line instead of being squeezed.
Someone said that they can be hard to remove if the fuel pressure is not relieved, but I think I relieved the fuel pressure enough by removing the fuel pump relay and cranking the engine for 5-10 seconds.
I looked around on the internet for awhile with no satisfaction. But it appears from my research that this should be a relatively easy task. Does anyone with specific knowledge of these types of fuel line fittings know what the deal is?
