How to rectify error in flashing BIOS?

I have a notebook PC.It's Compaq Presario C301TU.Today I reinstalled the OS as it crashed few days ago.While installing drivers from the HP website I found a software for flashing and updating the BIOS.I followed the onscreen instructions and performed the BIOS update.After I restarted the computer it is coming up to the Windows loading screen and automatically restarting.I tried to reinstall Windows but there is an error message which says Hard Disk not detected.I was successfully able to install Ubuntu Linux in a dual boot mode and Linux is running fine on the computer.However I need Windows as I run all my editing applications from Windows.I will be very grateful to anyone who can help me with the issue.
 
I would make a back up of your stuff that is working then redo the factory install which should reset the bios to that which came with the notebook
