I bought a '96 ford ranger from a friend with the 3.0L in it, blown. He also gave me a brand new short block and heads for it. I have never worked with anything over 4 cylinders or anything domestic before. Where should I start constructing this motor? The block already has the pistons, rods, crank, cam, and timing chain installed. The heads also have the valves, springs, and retainers installed. Does anyone know of a step by step engine construction guide? Thanks!
