How to put yourself through school with no help?

The government probably won't give me any loans because my parents have money, but I can't borrow money from them.

How many hours a week do you think someone can work? How many jobs can someone work?

This is my plan. Tell me bluntly if it will work or not.

I'm planning on taking a year off to work, save money and gain residence in another state. I'll save up as much as I can.

I MAY have a roommate. Probably not.

After a year I'll be able to afford 2-years of community college(it's cheaper is the only reason).

After that, I'll go to a normal university, hopefully a university of my choice but that is unlikely at this point.

If this plan won't work please help me create a new one. I'm so lost on how to set it up.

I know plans never actually work out if you plan too far ahead, I'm 15 now and who knows, my parents may actually loan me some money someday(unlikely). I'm trying to be prepared so I don't end up working minimum wage jobs forever. I just don't want to end up like that, I'm trying really hard to sort these things out.

Also I'm just going to add that I have a friend who really wants to move to France after he graduates, I speak French so we've talked a little about going together and me working in France, going to college there. I have no idea how that would work out though. Bad idea?

If anyone has had to put himself through college I'd love to hear your story.
Also I forgot to mention I probably won't be able to get scholarships, seeings how my grades are pretty average and again, my parents have a large income.
