I have a fantail goldfish..I bought it from pets at home and it developed and ulcer so i took it back and they exchanged it for one out the same tank which i got home and straight away developed and ulcer...I have two more fantails and neither of these have any ulcers and ive had my water tested and i know its not the water
Now the ulcer has developed and caused half it's fin to fall off and after looking at him earlier it appears he has fin rot now too and by the looks of him it would appear the end result is going to be nasty!
I am thinking of taking him back to pets at home but if he is destined to die i would rather i do it humanly instead of pets at home sticking him a treatment tank leaving him to die slowly....What would anyone advise and if "killing" him myself is the best options any ideas on how to do it humanly?
This is sooo sad :(

Ohh that sound like no good. Well I would just call a friend and ask for their help or call a local vet friend. Or give him a chance maybe he won't die! :) This was hard to answer but hoped I helped.

Freezing fish is the most humane way to do it. This is actually how research facilities "euthanize" their fish according to standards. Just put him in a cup or baggie of water and stick him in the freezer for a few hours. If you don't want to freeze him just flush, the chlorine will kill him practically instantly.

I'm so sorry. You can take him, put him in a bag, and stick him in the freezer. That will be all right. But make sure to put some water in it. :(
Ok, I'm sorry again. I hope this helps!
Maybe you should try what animal luvr said. It might work!

Go buy Jungle Buddies Fungus Clear for your poor fish. I swear to you, my Betta and 2 Mickey Mouse Platys were on the verge of death. Their fins were almost completely gone. I am not too good with fish, I probably didn't even look at them for 2 days, and so when I finally remembered to feed them I found them with white furry spots, one of the platys was bulging at his abdomen, and their fins were tattered and the bettas fins were shredded looking, one of the platys had no back fin and tattered edge where it once was. So this is how I miraculously saved them...I took fresh, new water and put it in a smaller fish bowl, then treated it with the jungle buddies fungus clear tablet (you can use a maximum amount listed on box, I used the max dosage) then put all of the fish in there, and put an air stone/pump and maintained strong airation for the day. I swear to god, when I got home from work, the white fuzz was almost completely gone, the fins were at least halfway healed and growing back already. Within 3 days all of the fuzz was gone and there was just some scale discoloration, and the fins had completely grown back. Within a week the stomach was no longer bulging, and they were totally fine. I could not believe it. And the stuff is really cheap, I felt like it was hopeless but I decided to try it anyways. So now I still have my fish, a year later :) Please at least give it a try! I believe it can really do more than anyone would imagine.

I would just flush it down the toilet.........any other way seems like it would be worse, flushing down the toilet you just flush and its over with .......thats what i do...............well for small fish i dont have any now.............and sorry to here about your fish..........
