How to put a speedometer on bicycle?

I have an old speedometer and odometer from an old car and I want to put it on a (pedal) bike and I know you can, but I need to know how to do it and hook it up??
 
It depends on how the speedometer is activated. Go to Walmart and get a schwinn one for $10 you will save a lot of time and hassle.
 
There are much simpler ways to do this and using one out of a car ......come on, are you serious? See here: http://www.performancebike.com/shop/sub_cat.cfm?subcategory_id=4110 all kinds to choose from and you wont look like a geek. Besides the one out of the car will not read that smaller diameter wheel size correctly so give it up ....seriously!
