It is possible , almost, no almost, if you throw enough money at it.
You need the services of a good machine shop to make the Ford or Mopar tranny fit in a Chevy.
With out seeing the parts, I am not sure if the 700r4 is an automatic or a manual transmission
Regardless of that fact, I think you will need these items manufactured:
(1) An adapter plate that matches the back of the chevy engine
.... probably 3/8 or 1/2 inch plate steel. If the tranny mounting holes can be placed on that adapter plate without interfering with the chevy mounting holes. If not an adapter plate that fits the tranny will also be needed
(2) these adapter plates will need to be married together either with allen head cap screws or by welding.
(3) If welding is done, the adapter plate(s) will need to be surface ground as the welding will warp the combined adapter plates.
(4) You might also need spacer plates made to properly space the flywheel or torque converter.
(5) A custom bushing that presses into the crankshaft to match the tranny input shaft diameter.
Not sure what this might cost?
You will need to talk this over with the machine shop foreman to get an estimate of costs.
If you do this, come back and let us on Answers know.
