first is probably the hardest, because you have to make sure you have the peg pushed all the way down past neutral. Once you get it there, slowly release the clutch until you can feel the gears engage. If you do this slow enough, you shouldn't have to use the gas. DO NOT drop the clutch, as this will either kill the engine, or if you give it gas, buck the bike out from under you "popping a wheelie" style. Once you get a good feel for where the gears engage as you release the clutch, you can start giving a little gas to gather speed faster. The other gears are simple enough, pull the clutch, let off the gas, shift to the next gear up, release the clutch as you start giving gas again. You probably still don't want to drop the clutch, but rather release it somewhat slowly. A good day of riding should get you pretty well trained. Good luck!
