i got a new deck and the max i can play the music if at volume 12. it sounds nice at 12...the deck does up to 35 and my old deck was sounding good at v25. deck is a alpine 9886....

i think i might adjust my system like this.

1.turn the deck up untill it disorts.. prob around 25-30.
2. disconnect my front speakers on my 4channel amp and keep the rear 6x9's on and adjust the speakers untill it sounds loud b4 it desortes or sounds bad.
3. disconnect the 6x9s from the 4channel amp and do the same to the front speakers
4. once i got the speakers tuned head towards the two subwoofers
5. i got a jbl mono amp so i would keep the speakers (front and back disconnected so i only hear bass) then adjust the gain untill it sounds good.

is this the right thing to do?...i attempted to do it today buti had trouble with the deck...i did eveything i mention but once at 10 it was loud and bassy... but the bass kicked in at 8 or 9 and the sound of the speakers were loud at 10..
can someone tell me a good tut. about how to do this properly...step by step

thank you so much if u can help me.

That deck shouldn't distort until after a volume of 22....
here is how to set the gain control for your amplifiers...follow these instructions for each one.

You can download the tones on realmofexcursion.com's downloads area...Make sure you set your head unit to a volume of 22, thats where alpines like to be.

also here is a nice guide for helping with sq you might want to check out:

forgot to mention, I'm not sure about that exact model but some alpines have a sub-w setting that goes from 1-15, when you set it have that on 15, as that is the only way your output voltage will be at it's maximum.
