How to properly adjust APN settings for MMS?

Hello,

I just got an HTC Hero and flashed it over to Cricket with Talk, Text and Web. However, I've been struggling to get MMS to work on my phone. I believe the problem lies within my APNs.

**On stock ROM, I do get Error 98 (Data Call Failure)

Here is info on my phone:
HTC Hero ("with Google" on back)
Android 2.2 Froyo Custom ROM (August 13)
Any Cut to proxy my mobile web
What other info would be useful?

I used Token419's file in this post here to try to get my APN configured correctly but it didn't work. I still have my original APN file as well.

Here is my current APN:
Code:

I don't know what any of this information means. How do I configure it correctly for my phone?

Thank you,
Jared

if you are using my flash and MMS is not working, it indicates it is most likely a Sprint based rom. So far i have not found a solution as to why Sprint based roms do not send MMS properly.

If your on a hero my only suggestion is to use the rom DamageControl 1.0 or DamageControl 1.1 which are eris ports and should work flawless. The issue comes down to the rom not supporting MMS properly on any network other than sprint's.

I see. I've tried Damage Control V1 but MMS still did not work. Did I get the wrong build of DC 1.0 perhaps?

Also, a little off topic but, without WiFi, Market does not work. Is this normal or have I not properly flashed Web and Data?

if your on damagecontrol 1.0 or 1.1 and you used my flash and your not getting internet it sounds like you dont have the autostart.apk installed. MMS should still work though, if you used a previous flash of mine, try the newest one, v10 for cricket, it should get you all setup, my previous flashes had MMS going through the proxy, which caused issues. MMS should work fine even without internet if your apn is set correctly, which from above should work fine, except on sprint roms, which is why i reccomend damagecontrol 1.0 or 1.1, which is based on a port from an eris, which works fine. Sprint does something weird to the MMS that we are still trying to nail down.

UPDATE:

I have DamageControl 1.0 and Token419's Cricket v10 flashed to the phone. My APN file goes as follows:
Code:

Now, I can receive MMS fine, but cannot send. Any ideas as to what the problem may be?

Says message cannot be delivered and retries and error is unspecified.
