HOW TO PREVENT CAT POOP IN GARDEN?

think a neighborhood cat has been using a section of my yard - soon to be veggie garden - as a litter box. As I was prepping it, there was a lot of cat poop and it looked like it had been there for a while.
I cleaned it all out (I think) but I need to make sure this does not continue.
Is there a spray to use? What else can I do BEFORE getting the veggies in? What to do AFTER to repell the cat?
 
Sometimes sprinkling the area with used coffee grounds can deter the cat. Cayenne pepper can also work, as well as mothballs. Avoid planting certain herbs too as some can attract cats such as mint.
 
I heard moth balls keep cats away. Just place a few around and inside the perimeter of your garden patch.
