How to prepare my three year old siamese cat for about a 15 hour car ride?

My husband and I are thinking about moving from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Virginia Beach, Virginia. The ride is about 15 to 16 hours. My cat does not do very well in cars. He gets all sweaty on his paws and gets very frightened. I have taken him for about a 20 min car ride but 15 hours is a lot. I want to know is there anyway to make the ride more comfortable for him? If I could take a plane I would but its not an option. We are taking a uhaul and so we have to take a car. Can a cat even hold their potty that long? I do not want him to hold on to his potty and then get an infection. Would my cat even adjust to the new enviornment?

make it tired before u start so i could just sleep, um idk maybe just make frequent stops to let it stretch? i never had a cat. just thought the question was intresting

I had that same situation when i visited my cousin in Chicago. First of all, your going have to let your cat get used to the car, meaning leaving it open and placing treats inside of it. Once your ready to head on out, make sure you make the area where the cat will be, very very comfortable. i take it spoiling the cat isn't a problem for you, so try to make the space very relaxing. place a mat, instead ot the cage and put some food and water on the bottom by the floor mats in case it gets hungry. then once on one of your stops, take the cat outside with you on a lease or the carrying case. this will make him/her more comfortable with the trip and try not to make too much noise also, once the cat is sleeping, keep it quiet. if all goes well, the only next thing you would have to worry about is making the cat get used to the new place. good luck.

oh yeah, take along lots of its toys and treats.
