Say you got 4 wrong answers out of 67 Critical Reading questions. From the formula provided by College Board, you get 63 - 4/4 = 62. 62 is your raw score and the scaled score is 690 - 790. What does this scaled score really mean? Is this saying that your score can be as low as 690 or as high as 790? If so, that is 100 points difference. Such prediction is just too rough for some one trying to reach a score of 2300 for all the three sections. Is it true that sometimes, even if a student got one or two wrong answers, he or she can still have a perfect score? Thank you.
