How to practice for tryouts?

I have tryouts coming up in about 3 weeks. This past week, my friend got asked to practice with varsity, and I did not - even though we are the same level and sometimes I'm better. We are trying out for the same team - but, she gets to practice 2/3 weeks longer before while I do not. Ugh. So: what should I do? I really need to step up my game, because I would LOVE to be on a National's club team.

-How should I practice? (I am a setter/right side/passer - I need to improve EVERYTHING, because they could put me anywhere) I have a volleyball, a slanted roof, maybe? access to another volleyball player, and maybe? access to a gym.

-What drills should I do? (I am already doing squats and calf raises to improve my vertical.)
