Put a GSR vtech head on a bigger B20 block
This setup gives you the biggest vtech engine for B series
the benifits of this setup is better torque across the entire rpm and a little extra HP, compression will be lower because of the bigger block, but this makes it perfect for boost, if you want to go all motor it's best to upgrade to higher comperssion pistons to take full advantage of this setup
If you use a turbo with high boost than most people like to go with the LS tranny because the Ls tranny has longer gears, it reduces turbo lags on big turbos and with high hp application the LS tranny is better for traction. You can still use a GSR or SI tranny but it is a pain sometimes, especially if you're you got a big turbo, and you drive it everyday
But if you don't turbo it than use a GSR or SI tranny, they have quicker gears, so you can redline faster, because that's where you highest hp is, near redline
No, with just the block, head, and tranny it will not take you into the 11's, even if it was in a light CRX. Low to mid 13 are possible depending on the car. It will have to be turbo chraged with a good suspension setup to get in the 11 second club
I have a H22 in my hatch the H22 engine is stock except for a STR manifold and and a DRAG turbo kit with a t3t4 snail
best time I got was 12:6 in a quater mile
