How to Make Instant Messenger Work

Hey all, when I first got my 8100, there was a link for "Instant Messenger", but everytime I clicked it, it didn't work. When I was trying to get T-Mobile's blackberry support department to fix an issue I was having with BB messenger, they inadvertently fixed it, so I thought I'd share just in case there are others out there who have the same issue.

To get it working, point your BlackBerry's browser to http://tmobileapps.com/downloadcenter/files/oz/pearl/instantmessaging.jad

this file is the OZ instant messaging program that supports the Instant Message icon on your default T-Mobile menu.

Hope this helps someone!

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~As a bazillion other people on this site will say, the only IM client worth having is JiveTalk.

Se the first post at this link to get it.

Please be aware that the Tmo OZ IM uses SMS (Text Messages) and not data, so if you do not have unlimited text messaging you might have a problem.

I also figured out a way to bring back the OZ messenger (though I doubt i'll ever use it since I have JiveTalk)

Go to options
Mobile network
Then run the diagnostics in the menu
