How to make a permanent lifestyle change with food and exercising?

People call me skinny and tall like a model, but i honestly feel like my upper thighs are a teenyy bit too big for the modeling industry. I want to lose weight there even though i know there is no such thing as target loss. so instead of just dieting and exercising for just that i want it to be permanent because if i diet just to lose weight than i'll eventually get off that diet when i reach my goal and regain the weight. i don't like counting calories or looking at the labels..so what foods can i eat for the rest of my life with portion control for breakfast lunch and dinner without getting bored?

please make me meal plan choices and exercise choices. p.s my friend runs all the time and she is a little over slim and she still has big thighs..i think it's mostly muscle.if that is that case i don't think running for me is the best option until i lose the weight so should i walk? will that help?
