it is SEE not SAW.....
try taking a needle and sticking it through a piece of card board, in the middle.
then hold the card board out and let the sun shine through the very very small hole onto the ground.
the light and shadow on the ground will show you a perfect (and safe) image of what the eclipse looks like.
I've heard of people using mirrors to reflect an image of the sun onto a wall inside a dark room and don't need to use the card board. they can even see the corona I think.
I guess this is a projection method. I'd figure you'd need a lens of some sort to focus the image and a diffuser.
a magnifying glass might do the trick??
