how to make a 98 dodge neon a little faster?

I have a 1998 dodge neon. Automatic transmission. And I was wondering what things I can add I to make it pick up faster and get more power. I DON"T want to make it into a racer car. All I'm after is to pick up quicker and some more horse power. Thanks!

one of the best ways to cheaply add hp..plus it actually helps mileage when just driving calmly

you can mod chip (performance chip) but then you have to run premium fuel.
