how to lose weight besides exercising?

Let me start out by saying I DO exercise in the gym AND play soccer about 3 times a week, 2 hours each time.

I was just wondering what else I can do to lose weight?
Should I drop all sugar and carbs? If so, how long will it take to lose weight and how much weight?
I'm trying to lose 15-20 pounds, fyi
I'm at the gym for about one hour to an hour and a half
