My school district (HISD) recently disallowed the ability for students' laptops to access the Internet due to growing concerns of hacking problems. Strangely enough, macs and iPhones are still able to access HISD Internet, but window laptops seem to be left in the dust. Is there any type of software I can install on my laptop to access my district's Internet? Would purchasing a wireless adapter help? I'd rather have a cheaper solution than buying a Mac. Thanks ahead of time.
