I might be moving to HI and my husband will attend UH Manoa. We are 'country folk' used to doing things for ourselves, like gardening and making our own bread, sewing, etc. I was wondering how easy it is to get access to land. Are their community gardens in some neighborhoods where you can have your own small space?
I have also heard of people going to HI and working on farms for room and board. Have you heard of anyone working on a farm 1-2 hrs a week in exchange for produce?
