How to lighten a denim jacket without bleach?

I have a denim jacket that is too dark. I would like to lighten it. Is there anyway I can without bleach. I don't necessarily want to distress it just lighten it. Thanks!
 
Dream on - there is no way to make it lighter other than bleaching it or washing it a thousand times and hope it doesn't fall apart. Learn to live with the color.
