Tattoo is android 1.6.

Thank you for any relpies!

How are you restoring it? What kind of backup of your phone do you have? Does it include the user dictionary data? Are you performing a factory reset before any of this?

hi extorian

i want to do factory reset yes.
dont have back up app but i will check out for some now.
but...is there a way to see all user words? and lets say copy them and than paste(add some more aswell quicker than on tattoo keyboard)

thanks

You can add and view them through Menu -> Settings -> Locale & text -> User dictionary. But, you would have to add them one at a time, and write down a copy of them in advance.

Are there really that many words in there? I've had my phone nearly 18 months and I only have two words in my custom dictionary.

Anyway, the easiest way to do it is to buy the app MyBackup Pro. It can backup and restore your dictionary (according to their website).

you wont belive but i dont have "user dictionary" in locale & text!!
i LOOOOKED everywhere!!!
is it coz i have android 1.6

i have htc tattoo i belive it has standard UI..
under locale and text i have:
-------------
-select locale
------------
-touch input

that's it!! no option under menu button.

This might be of interest. Unfortunately, it sounds like it won't work on the tattoo...

There's a file somewhere; I've found it when I was using the HTC ime, but it's not very easily readable. Some Googling might locate it if this app doesn't help...
