My fiance and I recently adopted a new cat...
our only trouble with this cat is that she tries to bolt out the door every time it's opened. Doesn't matter if she's eating or sleeping upstairs, as soon as we open the door, she'll bolt down the stairs.
We do not allow our cats outside - it's dangerous for them...
but we're really getting frustrated with trying to stop this one.
Does anyone have any tips?
I don't want to hear from people who say "Oh just let her out!", it's dangerous for cats outside and it's fairly well known that outdoor cats do not live as long as indoor cats.
Around here, outdoor cats are always getting hit by cars.. just the other day actually my neighbors outdoor cat was hit by a car.
And we live right near the woods... I'd prefer her to not get out into the woods.
I would just rather keep her inside all together.
Considering that we got our cat from a shelter that she was at for over many months...
I am pretty sure that this cat does not have another home somewhere.
