How to JAILBREAK/UNLOCK iPhone 1?

does anyone know a way to jailbreak/unlock the FIRST generation iPhone?
Right now, all the iPhone shows is "insert a valid SIM card".
Is there anyway to GET PAST this screen (unlocking)?
If so, how would I do that, or what program could I use?
And also, I would like to jailbreak it after that.
What program would be best? thanks
