how to install cab lights on a dodge ram?

I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 and I'm wanting to install cab lights on it I'm sorta nervous about the drilling into the roof but I have heard from people that when you pull the headliner down that there's some spots were if the factory were to put them in but didn't is this right
