My father has a Panasonic TX-L32X15BA TV and a Panasonic DMR-EX79EB recorder. The only cable connection between these two pieces of equipment is a HDMI lead, which connects the HDMI2 port of the TV to the recorder.
By pressing the Viera Link button on the TV remote control and then carrying out the steps described in the manual, we are able to successfully complete a timer recording using the recorder’s programme guide.
However, we are unable to complete a timer recording using the TV’s programme guide. Following the steps described on page 19 of the TV manual, the timer setting process performs as expected up to and including the orange timer LED appearing at the bottom of the TV. However, at the appointed time the recorder does not start recording and at no time does the red clock face timer icon appear on the recorder’s fascia. Please could anyone advise. Many thanks.
